Privacy policy
Your videos are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us. The app has no account system, advertising or analytics. If you contact us or visit this website, some information is handled as explained below.
Who we are
Time as Shape is made by Jody Hudson-Powell, London, UK, who is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Contact: me@jody.xyz.
Videos and camera
You choose videos with Apple's system photo picker; the app only receives the video you pick. The camera is used to record frames, track movement and place volumes in augmented reality. All processing happens on your device. The app does not use the microphone.
Saving and sharing
Studies and settings are stored on your device. Exports are saved to Photos only when you choose that and grant permission. When you share an export, the app or service you share it to has its own privacy terms. Your device backups (for example iCloud Backup) may include the app's data, under Apple's terms.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs and does not send us usage events or identifiers. If you choose to share diagnostics with developers through Apple, Apple may make crash and diagnostic reports available to us. We use any reports we receive to investigate faults and improve reliability, in accordance with Apple's privacy information and your settings.
Keeping and deleting data
Saved studies remain until you delete them in the app or delete the app and its data. Exports you saved elsewhere stay there until you remove them. Device backups are managed separately through your backup settings. We cannot access or delete the studies stored on your device.
Contacting us
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you provide, your message and any attachments. We use these to respond and investigate the issue you raise. Providing this information is optional, but without contact details or a description we may be unable to help. Please do not send private videos or other people's personal information unless needed for your enquiry.
This website
These support and privacy pages use no cookies or analytics scripts. Our hosting provider, Infomaniak, processes technical request information such as your IP address and pages requested in server logs to operate and protect the website. This is separate from the videos you use in the app.
Why we use this information
For support enquiries, technical logs and diagnostic reports we receive, we rely on legitimate interests: answering requests for help, investigating faults and keeping the app and website reliable and secure. We limit this use to what is needed for those purposes.
Service providers and retention
Our email and website hosting providers process information to deliver these services. Infomaniak hosts the website in Switzerland. The UK recognises Switzerland as providing an adequate level of protection for personal information.
Our email is provided by Fastmail, an Australian company. Fastmail may process email in other countries, including the United States and Australia, and states that it protects transfers of UK and EU personal information with safeguards such as standard contractual clauses; see Fastmail's privacy policy. Contact us if you would like more information about these safeguards.
We keep support correspondence while dealing with your enquiry and any necessary follow-up. There is no fixed period: we remove it when it is no longer needed, or sooner if you ask us to. Technical logs and diagnostic reports are retained for operational troubleshooting and security, subject to the relevant provider's retention settings. Information retained for an unresolved incident is reviewed when that incident is closed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your personal information, have it deleted, or restrict how it is used. Contact me@jody.xyz to make a request. These rights concern information we hold, such as support correspondence, rather than videos stored only on your device.
You have the right to object to our use of your personal information where we rely on legitimate interests. If you object, we will consider your request and explain any grounds on which we need to continue.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concern first, but you do not have to contact us before approaching the ICO.
Children
The app does not upload children's videos or create user profiles. If a child contacts support, we use only the information needed to respond and handle the enquiry with particular care.
Changes
If the app's data practices change, we'll update this page and its effective date.
